Description

This download contains a set of playing cards for each of the 3, 4, 8, & 11 Times-Tables – 26 pages in total.  Each table is linked to the story context explored in their respective song videos on the Number Fun Portal.

The set contains 5 different sets of cards:
Set A: Product Image Cards – visualising the product
Set B: Product Cards – the product using numerals
Set C: Table Fact Cards
Set D: Division Fact Cards – the related division fact
Set E: Multiplicand Image Cards – the item to be multiplied
It also includes a multiplication table poster plus a host of creative ideas for using the multiplication cards.

Ideas for Use: (Full instructions on Page 2 of the document)
1: Pairs – Players are given two or four sets of the cards from sets A to D.  Players take it in turns to turn over two cards.  If the cards match that player wins the cards.  The player winning most cards wins the game.
2: Happy FamiliesOne set of cards A to D are dealt out and players try to win a family of cards (e.g. 72 ÷ 8, 8 x 9, 72 and the picture of 9 octopi).
3: Speed Carding – In this game there is a central pile of 12 cards – one of the sets of cards.  One card is turned over at a time and a player aims to be the first player to respond with a particular fact.
4: Make Me – Player 1 has a set of Multiplicand Image Cards.  Player 2 has a set of the cards from sets B to D and deals one of their cards (e.g. 4 x 8).  Player 1 has to create the image that would match that fact.
5: Snap – One set of cards from A to D are shuffled and split between the two players.
6: Super Cool Calculations – The aim of this collaborative game is to create a Super Cool Calculation from the cards in your hands using Set A and Set C.  e.g. (8 x 3) + (8 x 4) = 24 + 32 = 56 = 8 x 7.
7: Multiplication Table Poster Chop!  Cut up the multiplication poster into strips and slice off the products (i.e. separate ‘8 x 5 =’ and ‘40’).  How long will it take to match the products to the facts?
